TORONTO, ON – Smartricity Motors has signed a multi-year supply agreement to become the preferred gear motor supplier for one of the world's leading solar tracker manufacturers. The agreement covers global supply of SolarPro motors for single-axis tracker deployments.
Under the terms of the agreement, Smartricity will supply motors for an estimated 5+ GW of solar tracker installations annually. The partnership represents one of the largest supply agreements in the company's history.
Built on Performance Track Record
"This partnership is the result of years of proven performance in the field," said Michael Sonsogno, CEO. "Our motors have demonstrated industry-leading reliability across hundreds of installations, and this agreement validates our position as the technology leader in solar tracker motors."
The partnership includes:
- Exclusive preferred supplier status for single-axis tracker motors
- Joint development of next-generation motor technologies
- Coordinated global logistics and regional manufacturing
- Extended warranty programs and field support
Scaling to Meet Demand
To support the increased volume, Smartricity is expanding production capacity across its global manufacturing network. The recently opened New York facility will play a key role in serving North American projects, while facilities in Thailand and Italy will support Asia-Pacific and European deployments respectively.
"This partnership underscores the growing importance of purpose-built motors in utility-scale solar," added Mike Cowen, Chief Operating Officer. "Generic motors simply cannot match the reliability and efficiency that large-scale solar projects demand."
